About Coloraddiction

I’m Kandice, and I am addicted to color! I’ve been a glass beadmaker for about six years, and before that I worked in retail and the occasional jewelry-making. I adore what I do, and find myself more and more in love with glass color as time goes by. I am 35, married and live in Washington State with my husband Ken, and kitties Pumpkin and Ember.I’ve always loved beads and color - I first got into beading when I worked for a fabric store during my college years. Color is a major inspiration of mine - I adore the way color plays with light. I bought lampwork for my own jewelry creations for awhile, and just fell in love with the medium. When I discovered several years ago that one could make her own beads, I was hooked!
I decided to do the Coloraddiction blog as a way to connect with all the people who have been emailing me asking me when I am going to start teaching lampworking. Since I don’t have the facilities to teach in person, I thought I would do some teaching online! This blog is the beginning of that. I have started with mini-articles on glass colors that I have had experience with, and I hope to begin including tutorials complete with pictures, and other projects in the future. All of the info here will be completely free for you to use, print out, pass on to others, etc. Please credit me as the author if you plan to share any of these articles with others.
My beads are made from Effetre (Moretti), Vetrofond, Precision, Kugler (ASK 104), CIM and/or Lauscha glass, so those are the glass brands and colors I talk about in this blog, for the most part. I may branch out if I find something really cool, though! You can visit my website to see more of my work at lampwork.net.

as someone closely working with the team at vetrofond i have to say your comments are spot on!.. mr moretti is working like mad to come up with new stuff, and more experimental glass all the time - i have also given him the feedback that we need some really good pinks and opaque “standard” colours!!! this is a brilliant resource - and well done on all this work and info!!!

Wow - how wonderful that you came and commented on my blog - thank you! I am glad you like it. I plan to review many more colors - and Vetrofond is one of the glass lines I use the most. I love the selection and the company’s commitment to making us glass lovers happy.

Ditto on your blog having great information on color and glass. It’s really nice to get some pre-use tips, what to try with the glass I already have sitting here, and ideas for future purchases. I wish I could subscribe to this feed… Or can I? Guess I’ll find out!
